Since EQF Levels 4/5 are considered as career specific qualifications, the framework for suggested learning at these levels is categorised according to the VET, e.g. office, product design, manufacturing and business leadership.

Activity Area

Working in an office or retail environment, with little scope for influencing product. Focus on customer service.

CE Principles

Basic understanding of CE principles needed. Understanding of the role of procurement to buy resource efficient products and services from suppliers.  Knowledge of recycling/reuse/waste prevention important for materials such as packaging.

Activity Area

Working in a product manufacturing environment, where resources (materials/sub-components) are supplied and transformed and packaged.

CE Principles

Wide understanding of all aspects of CE in the workplace needed.  Knowledge of opportunities for waste prevention, re-use. Recycling eco-design and move from product to service important.  Also knowledge of how to innovate in the workplace and implement change.

Activity Area

Working in a design office, where opportunities to design out waste in products or packaging.  Where the focus of the business is in the design of the product or service.

CE Principles

Understanding of CE principles needed, with focus on waste prevention, material selection, extending product life, eco-design and servitisation business models.

Activity Area

For VET students progressing to a management career and likely to be in a position to consider appropriate business models for their organisation.

CE Principles

Good understanding of CE principles needed, together with the knowledge of eco-design, and moving away from consumption of products to consumption of services.  Working in the supply chain to influence change.  Entrepreneur skills in CE thinking and implementation of business change.
